Sound of Lonely

Time is strange and words come slow.

Will you ever have the courage? I don’t know.

You can’t sleep by yourself. Can’t stand the sound.

To be alone when rain is coming down.

All those things you felt, I felt all that too.

And I want to be the one beside of you.

I know you’re afraid to stay a while,

But it’s worth the way I make you smile.

We’re under the same stars, but far away.

I hope that we can find a brighter day.

Distance is cruel to the way we feel;

So easy to change but, Lord it’s real.

And I’m naked; I’m naked on the floor.

And I’m praying, baby, you’ll come through my door.

The only version of me that feels true,

Is the person I am when I’m with you.

So please be brave.  Call out my name.

It’s the only way I’ll ever quench this flame.

Those silly words and love songs that you send.

I pray that isn’t where our story ends.
